Kierie Kwaak provides self catering cottage accommodation in Jonkershoek, just outside Stellenbosch in the Cape Winelands. Stellenbosch is famous for its university and historical buildings. Reportedly the second oldest town in South Africa, it should not be missed. Our self catering cottages are situated on a farm in the beautiful, rustic Jonkershoek valley, which forms part of a World Heritage area. The cottages are within walking distance from the Assegaaibosch nature reserve and the Mountain To Ocean Forestry Reserve, which is 8 minutes drive from us. It is believed that the cottages were originally built as housing for Italian Prisoners of war who built stonewalls for gardens on the farm. During 2000 they were renovated as self catering guest cottages. Activities in the valley are: picnicking, hiking, mountaineering, jogging, fly fishing, wine tasting, bird watching and walks in the nature reserves with their rich fynbos vegetation. Activities on the farm: Walk in the veld, bird watching and swimming in the farm pool fed by fresh water from the Stellenbosch mountain. From the veranda you have a magnificent view of the valley and mountains surrounding the valley. The cottages also have a sundeck adjacent to a mountain stream where one can relax. The two cottages are annexed to each other. No. 1 consists of one bedroom with either one single or twin beds, a fully furnished kitchen and a bathroom with shower, toilet and washing basin. No. 2 consists of a bedroom with a double bed, a bedroom with bunker beds, a bathroom with shower, toilet and washing basin and a fully furnished kitchen. Stellenbosch has excellent golf courses and is only 20 km from the seaside.
The Kierie Kwaak Self Catering cottages are situated 4 km outside Stellenbosch on a farm in the beautiful, rustic Jonkershoek valley, which forms part of a World Heritage area.

Good old fashioned home from home country comfort consisting of 2 separate private self catering suites, designed and furnished for 2 people. The beautiful natural garden with magnificent 60 year old trees, has pathways leading to a duck pond and the Blaauwklippen River, with shaded sitting areas for you to enjoy the abundant birdlife. The Garden Suite has its own driveway/carport leading into a private olive garden, overlooking a small vineyard and oak trees, with a braai and deck. The entrance to the suite is off the deck, leading into a dining area, and fully equipped kitchen, suitable for a short holiday to a long stay. The tastefully decorated bedroom consists of a sitting area with satellite television, queen size bed, and an en suite bathroom with shower. The deck with garden table and seating for four people, is built around a crab apple tree, great for sundowners, eating out and relaxing, with the accompaniment of squirrels and birdlife. The Paddock Suite with private entrance and parking under an old oak tree, has it's own garden, patio, braai overlooking the horses grazing in the paddocks. The suite consists of a bedroom with king (or twin) beds with 2 comfortable arm chairs, satellite full dstv and a full en-suite bathroom. The kitchenette is equipped with a fridge, mini oven/hob cooker, microwave, toaster and kettle. Our self catering accommodation allows you to come and go as you please, as you explore the Stellenbosch area.

- The property (you) must offer the 15% saving to all verified members
- Verification is done automatically at the time of an enquiry. It is at the property’s discretion whether to offer the saving for a telephonic enquiry. (As you have no means to verify the membership number, it is advisable to get them to do a formal enquiry so they can be verified).
- If the property is currently running a "Special" greater than 15% then the "Special" price will apply. (No further savings needs to be offered). EXCEPT in the case where the "Special" is lower than 15%. In that case the 15% will apply.
Example: A property offering a 10% discount, must offer an additional 5% discount to valid members - so they get a total 15% saving. - The property must offer valid members the saving all year round. (Properties that pick and chose in which seasons to participate run the risk of being removed from the programme completely. Allowing selective participation defeats the integrity of this initiative).
- The property must not inflate the price before the 15% is applied. Prices displayed should be the rack rate. (The official or advertised price of a room).
- The property must honour any bookings made while the property was participating as a $elect Stays property.
- The property must honour the agreement and the spirit in which the initiative is designed to benefit local tourism.
