Jubel n Juig self-catering unit located in Kersbosstrand, Dwarskersbos on the Cape West Coast is a special place of relaxation. This 68m² unit is part of my home and barely 200m from the beach.
Our luxurious self-catering unit has a bedroom with a king size bed and built in cupboards. In addition, there are 2 sleeper couches that are big enough, (117cm per couch) to accommodate 2 extra guests. Just a reminder that there is one bathroom en-suite, and privacy will be affected.
The kitchen is fully equipped, and all cleaning materials are supplied. Enjoy spacious dining and seating facilities. The bedroom has built in cupboards and an en-suite shower/bath combination with plugs for shaver or hairdryer plug. Bath towels are available. Just a reminder to always save water.
Other facilities include a roof fan in the room, large under-roof patio with braai and canvas protection against the weather as well as DSTV, DVD, Radio and CD. Parking is available right at your front door.
Bring your own beach towels and braai wood.
Our Surroundings
In Dwarskersbos we have stunning sunsets! Fresh air, long open beaches unfold in a never ending panorama of beauty.
In the heart of summer, a sand bank about 150m into the bay ensures that “with some luck” the water temperature might even touch on mid-twenties!
As part of the flower belt, Dwarskersbos prides itself on its own flora, something not to be missed.
It is a captivating sight to see and feel the mist rolling onto the beach… the gardens…. the windows. It is then that you hear the silence. The sound of water lapping at the sand on the beach. The seagulls crying, looking for fresh mussels. Then again the rush of the wind, you can smell the rain when the wind of the north-west pushes against you – leaving traces of salt on your lips.
“What can I fill my time with? you might ask.
Leave the rat-race life behind and come and relax, come find your inner self and do whatever you would not normally have time for during the year. Pack a picnic and do some bird watching at Rocher Pan, the Fossil Park or at the Berg River. Enjoy a trip on our Riverboat harboured at Port Owen.
Visit the seafood restaurants in Bokkomlaan, (die Vishuis), die Vaatjie, (Port Owen), Russels on the Port (Port Owen), Charlie’s Brewhouse (Port Owen), the Laaiplek Hotel or Riviera Hotel.
Treat yourself at the open-air beach restaurant Muisbosskerm near Lamberts Bay or
Boesmanland Kombuis in Langebaan. Visit the West Coast Mall in Vredenburg; book a boat trip on the Berg River.
Enjoy endless drives to Elands bay; Piketberg; Aurora; Porterville; and pick cherries (Summer) on the Klondyke farm in Ceres. A light lunch at Draaihoek Lodge, half way to Elandsbaai, is a culinary experience!
Buy yourself a string of bokkoms (wind dried fish) or bring your own fishing tackle. Retire at the end of the day with a braai on the patio.
